About Me

Pronouns: Her/Him

My name is Hunter (her/him) and I’m a genderqueer person living in Seattle. I am autistic and have a chronic disease that has impacted my mental health in the past. I identify as polyamorous. I’m a sex-positive and kink-positive person and I’m also on the asexual spectrum. I deeply value social justice, which I consider to be an ongoing pursuit that requires patience, education, and humility especially from people like myself who come from white privilege. I am a clinical intern which means I’m still new to this work, however I have over 7 years of experience as a crisis counselor through Crisis Text Line and 988 Lifeline. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, doing yoga, and seeing live theatre.

What You Can Expect

When you work with me as a therapist you can expect me to explore the meaning of your language as well as what your internal experiences are like. I believe in digging into the root meaning of what’s said and reflecting back to ensure that you are actually heard. I think therapists are meant to support and guide clients, not tell you what you can and can’t do with your life. I do my best to create an environment of trust. I tend to use a lot of creative arts therapy approaches with my clients, as well as several therapeutic models that have evidence based research, such as Narrative Therapy, Attachment based therapy, Gottman’s therapy for couples, and Acceptance and Behavioral Therapy
